AGRICULTURE
Noney district is an agrarian economy with paddy as the major crop. Due to the nature of the terrain, jhumming is the preferred mode of paddy cultivation. Wet paddy cultivation is practised in small scale in low lying areas, like the Khoupum valley and the Longmai valley. Estimated area, yield and production of paddy for Noney(inclusive of Tamenglong) for the year 2020-2021 is given in the table below:
