ABOUT DISTRICT
Noney is one of the 16 districts of the state of Manipur. The present district of Noney was newly created in 2016 by bifurcating the erstwhile Tamenglong District vide Gazette Notification No. 408 dated 08.12.2016 by the Government of Manipur.
AREA AND LOCATION
The Noney District headquarters is 63 km west of Imphal, the capital of Manipur. The district is bounded by Tamenglong on the north, Bishnupur and Kangpokpi on the east, Jiribam on the west, and Churachandpur and Pherzawl on the south. The district is divided into four administrative subdivisions- 1) Noney (Longmai),2) Khoupum, 3) Haochong, and 4) Nungba. The entire district is classified as rural.
